In an attempt to diversify my blog and not just blog about books, I'll tend to save some links that I think would be interesting. I saved two that I barely had the chance to blog about here:
Whenever I have conversations with people about men vs. women, they tend to think I'm a feminist. I've never wanted to admit that because of the stigma that comes with that term but after reading this article, I can laugh because at least I wasn't the only one conjuring up certain images in my head.
This is a series that iVillage is doing and I gotta say, it's a pretty refreshing piece. It's mature, real, and very candid. I enjoyed it a lot. I used to really enjoy Katherine Heigl but after reading how she comes off to people, I lost a little respect for her but after reading this essay, I have grown to like her again. I know I'm not married but I've sometimes had the same thoughts as she did about love and what it means to be in a relationship and often strive for the same things she does.

makes you pensive..

School has started. 36 hours/week @ work and 6 classes at school will equate to a lot of studying, a lot of money, and no sleep, rest, or social life (lol). Expect my posts to be pretty bland this semester. I apologize in advance. Anyways, this is a link to one of the more interesting articles I've come across lately. Don't ask me how cuz I don't even know but it's pretty good. (I'm bored a lot at work)
It's about how people pick the wrong person to marry and what the usual 10 mistakes are. Some are common sense but are stated in a way that really makes you think. I know this did:

To evaluate whether you have a deeper emotional connection or not, ask: "Do I respect and admire this person?"
This does not mean, "Am I impressed by this person?" We are impressed by a Mercedes. We do not respect someone because they own a Mercedes. You should be impressed by qualities of creativity, loyalty, determination, etc.
It's directly from the article and really made me think. I'm normally very pensive on this issue anyways, given my personal experience. That and the fact that I'm aware that this is probably the biggest decision you'll make in life.  You may say it's stupid but maybe it's worth a look?
